- Flair Paint

-
- Flair Paint automatically boots up when the ST is turned on
- with the disk in drive A. If you have an ST with 512K of RAM then
- click on the 'Flair Paint' box, If you have more than 512K of RAM
- then click on 'Canvas/Printer Configuration' followed by 'OK'
- until the screen headed 'ST Memory Usage' appears; then click on
- the 'Yes' box along side 'Flair as a GEM accessory' followed by
- more 'OK's'. The RAM disk, printer spooler and GDOS are not
- available on this demo. If you are using Flair Paint as an
- accessory then you may wish to run a GEM application when the
- Desktop appears: select 'Flair Paint' from the accessories menu.
- You will be presented with the Flair Paint main tablet. The
- user interface is based around tablets which may be dragged around
- by their borders. Borders may be removed by pointing over a tablet
- and pressing the space bar. Special effects are toggled by
- pressing F9. Various pointers/cross hairs are available by
- pressing F1. Experiment with other function keys.
- Flair Paint is a sophisticated program in which Shift and
- Control keys often give different effects with mouse clicks. Many
- key presses are available, e.g. 'X' and 'Y' to toggle grid lock.
- If you have >512K RAM try selecting the JX80 canvas during the
- boot up sequence. Then use F10 to remove the tablets and scroll
- around the canvas by dragging with the mouse. While painting (and
- for virtually all other functions) use Control and arrow keys to
- scroll around the canvas.
- You should experiment with Flair Paint by clicking on icons;
- if you can see an icon then it may be clicked on irrespective of
- whether its tablet is partially hidden by another or not.
- Specific colours may be cut or painted over by highlighting
- them on the palette tablet (Shifted click). 8-connected flood and
- edge (contour) fills may be selected using a Shifted click.
- Several features have had to be dropped from this ST/Amiga
- format version of Flair Paint due to lack of disk space, notably:
- GDOS drives and fonts (any GDOS font may be loaded at any time,
- GDOS printer drives allow a laser printed-sized canvas to be set
- up giving 300 d.p.i. resolution); RAM disk and printer spooler
- (user-definable size); monochrome version using slimline tablets;
- cuckoo clock; GDOS fonts and drivers; demo images.
- Flair Paint is fully compatible with hard disks. The Control
- key may be used to prevent Flair Paint booting or, in an
- alternative configuration, to cause Flair Paint to boot. Full
- instructions are given in the complete version which may be
- obtained for £34.95 from:
